I wanted to be sure that my first image of 2019 was one that spoke to the direction of Klarite. "Carica Hollow" fits that bill beautifully. The image was created from some of the last remnants of 2018's growing season in my courtyard. Even I was surprised by what my camera helped me see for the first time by creating this photograph.
"Carica Hollow" is a struggle of lights and darks, promises of new life and possibilities that could have been yet were cut short.
Here are some of my favorite conversations and moments that I had with guests to my booth over the 3 day show. Guest: What's your background, is it scientific? Me: I have a Bachelor's in Studio Art with a Minor in Ecology. Guest: I knew you had some kind of a science background! Me: This is one of the best things you could have said to me right now!
