I wanted to be sure that my first image of 2019 was one that spoke to the direction of Klarite. "Carica Hollow" fits that bill beautifully. The image was created from some of the last remnants of 2018's growing season in my courtyard. Even I was surprised by what my camera helped me see for the first time by creating this photograph.
"Carica Hollow" is a struggle of lights and darks, promises of new life and possibilities that could have been yet were cut short.
I absolutely love growing plants in my courtyard. It's to the extent that I can barely walk around the area. There are vines sprawling all over the yard right now. One of my favorite plants from this growing season was my mammoth sunflowers. Some of these things grew up to 14 feet tall or so, well above the eaves of my roof! The best part, of course, were the flower heads that were more than a foot across.
